Hi, my name is Emmy!
I’m a Mental Health Counseling Intern at Born to Bend Mental Health & Wellness, working toward my licensure as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC). I consider it a privilege to walk alongside people as they navigate this beautifully messy experience we call life.
Whether you’re adjusting to becoming a parent, feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, carrying the weight of past experiences, questioning your next step, or simply feeling like you’ve lost yourself along the way, you don’t have to figure it out alone. My goal is to create a space where you feel genuinely seen, heard, and accepted—a place where you can slow down, take a deep breath, and begin making sense of what you’re carrying.
I strive to foster a warm, grounded, collaborative, and judgment-free environment where clients feel safe exploring both the challenges they’re facing and the strengths they already possess. I am committed to providing affirming care for individuals from the LGBTQ+ community, BIPOC communities, and people from all marginalized identities.
My approach to counseling is holistic, culturally responsive, and systems-oriented, recognizing that our relationships, experiences, culture, and environments all shape how we move through the world. My work is also influenced by interests in anthropology, yoga therapy, liberation psychology, and evolutionary psychology, allowing me to consider the whole person rather than just the symptoms they bring into therapy.
I enjoy supporting clients through a variety of life experiences, including postpartum mental health, navigating motherhood, parenting challenges, relationship concerns, major life transitions, anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use. Together, we’ll work toward understanding the patterns that keep you feeling stuck while building practical tools, resilience, and confidence to move forward.
I believe that what we resist often persists, and that healing grows through connection—with ourselves, with others, and within a safe therapeutic relationship. Whether you’re seeking support for yourself, your child, your family, or simply looking for a place where you don’t have to carry everything alone, I would be honored to be part of your journey.
I work with children, adolescents, adults, veterans, and families.
